4960 miles
“4960 miles” is a feature film project expanding on Wing-Yee Wu's award-winning short film "4960". Based on the work by National Book Award finalist Aleksandar Hemon and set in the early nineties, we follow the separated lovers Jozef and Aida as they try to communicate across the discrepancies of their lives. Though their situations are vastly different – Aida stuck in a Sarajevo under siege, Jozef lost in translation as an involuntary refugee in Chicago – their lives are equally as absurd and their struggle to survive as grim.
"4960 miles" tells a funny and painful love story through a modern depiction of the losses of war.
